Is Saturday your cheat day? If it is, you are on the right track! Haha! If not, you might change your mind. Haha! Well, the good news is that Edsa Shangri-la’s HEAT just brought in the brilliant idea of coming up with a Mad For Wagyu themed buffet.
Saturdays of 2016 are all about the hottest meat in town! It’s Wagyu-all-you-can ladies and gentlemen!!!
Together with my foodie friends called “Kain Tulog Gang,” we celebrated our post-Christmas party, the wagyu way. Also, I’ll be sharing with you my favorites from the buffet spread.
The Food:
Wagyu Beef Jerky
THIS!!! I just started and my heart was already stolen by this Wagyu Beef Jerky. Thin, crispy, bacon-like, all curled and glazed with sweet-spicy sauce. If they sell packs of Wagyu Beef Jerky, I’d most likely be in line to take home bags of it for me and my jerky-loving dad.
Wagyu Xiao Long Bao
Wagyu Xiao Long Bao has that fascinating juicy meat, thinly wrapped to a ball to shoot straight to your mouth.
Wagyu Beef Ball Pao Bun
Still as an appetizer, Wagyu Beef Ball Pao Bun crossed my path and I didn’t want to let go. It’s another must you have to try!
Wagyu Tartare DIY
I ignored the Wagyu Tartare DIY station the first time I glanced upon it, unsure of how to prepare for myself. With the help of HEAT chefs, they assist customers and orient how to make your own Wagyu Tartare. O enjoyed this Wagyu Tartare more than me.
Take a side trip to the Mexican alley and get yourself this Wagyu Taco smothered with cheese on top. As you can see, it just keeps better and better!
The Wagyu Beef Shawarma (no photo unfortunately) and Wagyu Skewers were 2 of the dishes that gave me a burst of happiness in a bite.
The usual carving station will always be present, but if you want your wagyu cooked fresh right in front of your naked eye, HEAT got that covered for you. At the grill station, you can have your wagyu sirloin, wagyu ribeye or wagyu burgers lay on heat for a while. In just a few minutes, the fresh taste of high quality wagyu will be with you to comfort you.
Wagyu Beef Brisket
HEAT won’t overdose you with wagyu beef, even if it looks like it. The same stations like the seafood section with fresh lobsters are available at the buffet area.

Is the buffet worth the price? For wagyu beef lovers, there’s no hesitation in me to say it will satisfy you not for its amount of selections but for the quality. For those who doesn’t see anything special in wagyu meat, then “wag yu!” Get it? Haha!

The People:
Great food isn’t enough if you aren’t with great company. Aside from O, who’s my automatic date, my KTG friends even made this evening a night to remember. I really missed Frannywanny, who’s now based in Singapore.
