I, together with my Citi colleagues, discovered something big after our team lunch in Tagaytay a couple weeks ago. But before our discovery, we had to hop on and hop off our automobiles to reach that point. The group fit in 3 cars. From our starting point, RSM Tagaytay where we had lunch, our car passed by Colette’s first, to bring home some pasalubong to our families, while the other 2 cars went ahead to Solenad. Second stop, we proceeded to Solenad 1, thinking the 2 cars were there. After several minutes, we found out they were all at Solenad 2, not Solenad 1. We made a U-turn to follow the rest at Solenad 2. If you ask me how the weather was, well it was scorching hot. Summer heat was so evident and wearing shades was necessary.
As our car reached Solenad 2, we saw our colleagues and followed them. I thought we were gonna settle there. Only to find out, we had to go back to Solenad 1, where our car came from. There weren’t any restaurants at Solenad 2 they wanted to try out.
So then, we went back to Solenad 2, went down the car and looked for a restaurant. We entered Uncle Cheffy’s and all 9 of us sat down and asked for the menu. Not more than 10 minutes, the group decided to transfer to another area. We had to ride our cars again and head to Paseo de Sta. Rosa where there were more restaurants.
We parked near Kanin Club area and walked all the way to T.O.S.H. (The Old Spaghetti House) since we were advised only the last minute by the others that we would all settle and eat there. It wasn’t that far actually, but because of the heat, it seemed far from us. So we finally walked and saw T.O.S.H. When we saw our other colleagues there, we noticed they were just outside standing up. Guess what? We had to walk all the way back to Kanin Club area since T.O.S.H. didn’t have air-con. Whew!
This is it! The moment we’ve been all waiting for. We didn’t end up at Kanin Club, instead, we finally found our spot at Big 30 Pizza & Pasta right in front of Kanin Club. Woohoo! Finally! 😀 All smiles on our faces and rejoiced when we finally settled down and ordered our food. 🙂

The Food:

3 flavors in 1 30-inch pizza:
1) Big 30 Supreme (Php 1,328/30inch)– Ground pork/beef, bacon, ham, salami, pepperoni, bell pepper, black olives, mushrooms, onions, cheddar cheese, mozarella cheese.
2) All Cheese (Php 1,268/30inch) – White sauce, bernaise sauce, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
3) All Meat (Php 1,608/30inch) – Ground beef/pork, meat chunks, bacon, ham, frankfurter sausage, special cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese
I didn’t see any option on the menu that all 3 flavors can be combined. I just thought of giving it a try and asked the server if they have an assorted flavored pizza. Positively, they have! We just had to wait for about 20 minutes for our pizza to come.
Criss-cut Potato Chips (Php 60) – For snacks while waiting for our 20-minute 30-inch pizza to come, this potato chips warmed our stomachs for another big eating. Take note, we just had our lunch at RSM, so some of us are still kind of stuffed. I like the texture of the chips while munching on it. Normally, after 1 try of oily chips, I stop eating. However, I didn’t notice myself I nibbled on these chips until I found my fingers oily already. Maybe the cheesy dip made me nibble.
Before giving it a try, I needed a photo with this “Instagram worthy” pizza.
Huge pizzas don’t normally offer the best taste. They seem attractive but if you dwell on the taste, it’s not that impressive. At Big 30 Pizza & Pasta, I didn’t expect their would leave a mark to my taste-buds. When I finally tasted all 3 flavors, starting with All Cheese, I instantly knew I would finish all 3 pizza slices on my plate. The dough is thicker than Shakey’s but thinner than Pizza Hut. For some, they would think it’s too floury, but for me, it’s not bad at all. For a 30-inch pizza that isn’t easy to prepare, the taste is above average for me. I like the soft pizza crust when served hot. The bread alone adds points to its goodness. Transferring from one place to another several times paid off. If it wasn’t for those transfers, we wouldn’t end up delighting our tummies with these big and tasty pizza slices. 🙂
Big 30 Supreme and All Meat didn’t differ that much when it comes to taste, but it wasn’t an issue at all. Both delighted everyone’s pizza meal. Just make sure when you use and pour on their hot sauce, be careful. You might think it’s averagely spicy but it isn’t. It’s spicier than the usual hot sauces you get from famous pizza chains.
I watched them prepare our pizzas. Seemed like it’s a struggle to make all toppings even but these men from Big 30 are obviously neat and pros in making 30-inch pizzas.

The Ambiance:

A small restaurant that could accommodate around 30 people I guess? Not a cozy type of restaurant. Just a casual and simple pizza place with seats that can accommodate groups. For smokers, seats outside are available as well. At night, Sta. Rosa weather is cooler, which makes sitting outside without air-con will be fair enough.
Before the final stop at Big 30 Pizza & Pasta, let me share with you some photos during our RSM lunch and stopovers…
I really hope Big 30 Pizza & Pasta opens a branch in Metro Manila. Uhm, somewhere near San Juan please. 🙂
