“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.” – Anne Frank

Waking up to this kind of beauty sweeps away worries and problems. It makes me forget about worries in life. It directs my attention to appreciating God’s beautiful creation. I remember one book I encountered about unveiling God’s beauty. God made beautiful things to make us see Him more. See that He is an artist and nature is one of His masterpieces. Nothing on earth can surpass God’s creation, the breathtaking nature He entrusted to us, particularly this kind of view. Don’t you feel like pausing for a while and taking a good picture of it? Or stare at it because a glance is not enough to appreciate its real beauty? You have to look at this creation carefully and let nature soothe you.
On another note, breakfast buffet was waiting for us at Don Vito Ristorante Italiano. Choices for breakfast were a mix of Filipino and American cuisine. For me, as long as there are fruits, I am good to go. Fruits in the morning gives a fresh start.
As usual, I ask the cook from the egg station to make my omelette. Always stuffed with mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese.
Breakfast buffet area. After breakfast, they change the set-up, adding chairs and tables for dining.
Perfect weather for a swim. Astonishing view from where I am standing. It’s beautiful here in the Philippines! 🙂
Beachfront of our hotel – no need to look farther for a good spot. We were provided with beach chairs and towels.
Pool of Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel.
The rest of the day was spent enjoying the magnificent view of Boracay. Chilling by the beach with some snacks and drinks – Oh the kind of beach-bum life!
To complete the day of relaxation, we ended our night by trying Boracay Mandarin Hotel’s Spa. Since our bodies are still full from our Don Vito late lunch, we scheduled our spa during dinner time.
At Mandarin Spa, we were welcomed by their staff who didn’t speak in Filipino. Looks like everyone was trained to speak in English, knowing that most of their customers are foreigners and tourists.
We chose their Total Body Ritual Experience package that lasted for 3 hours. This is how Mandarin Spa describes Total Body Ritual Experience – “A combination of our unique treatments rituals. A chance to relax and experience the healing wonders of touch. With our traditional Filipino massage, this treatment restore balance to your entire body by circulation and allow your energies to flow. This thorough head to toe massage attune your senses and is designed to ease your body’s common ache and pains while balancing your body’s energies. Begin your journey to self-rejuvenation and be whole again. Rejuvenate and pamper your whole body with our all-natural and organic body scrubs and body wrap, and our Mandarin Spa unique signature facial care treatment helps rejuvenate your face and regain its radiant and youthful glow.”
The first part of the treatment is the body scrub and body wrap. At first, I was iffy with the body scrub and body wrap because of its stickiness while I was being wrapped. There was an uncomfortable feeling for a while. But right after I was asked to shower and rinse, I instantly like the refreshing feeling. All ready for the next part, which is my favorite, the massage!
The massage, traditional “hilot”, eased my muscle pains. The stress my body carries was gone like the wind. There were minutes I wasn’t aware of what was happening because of my journey to dreamland. The masseuse touch was just too relaxing, wishing I could have this massage every night in my own bedroom.
Next in line, I was asked to go to the 3rd floor to experience Mandarin’s facial care treatment. I couldn’t resist touching my face after the treatment. Rejuvenated for real! I felt like a princess being pampered from head to toe.
