Before leaving for Macau, I opted to join OpenRice once again for another foodie trip. Prior to accepting the invitation to dine out, I planned not to leave my house the day before my trip and rather fix my things for Macau. But then, when Khaezel from OpenRice told me that we would be pigging out in Torch Restaurant, I thought it wasn’t a bad idea to join the gang. Besides, Torch Restaurant is practically like a neighbor to me.
Dinner turned into breakfast. When this Fresh Garden Skillet Omelette set was served, I got excited figuring out what would happen next. My hands were itchy to cook the eggs by myself since it was a D-I-Y type of dish. However, the waiter told us to signal if we are ready to watch the chef do it for us. Hmp! I wanted to make my own omelette pa naman 🙁
Fresh Garden Omelette composed of red and green bell peppers, onions, button mushrooms and tomatoes with melted cheddar cheese. The plate must be sizzling hot in order to cook the omelette properly. Chef showed us that you must gently mix the omelette on the plate. On the other hand, there are some cases wherein the heat of the plate is not enough, just like ours.
So this is where the Torch comes in action! As you can see, a portable Torch was used to give right amount of heat and make a delicious plate of omelette. So cool to watch chef use the torch! I wanted to try doing it badly. :- Unfortunately, my job was simply to e-a-t.

Served fresh and hot! Pair it with hot pandesals and your breakfast will start off your day with a smile. In my case, I had it for dinner, which wasn’t erroneous at all. I super enjoy breakfast foods and this is one of them! Something unique to do and eat at a fusion restaurant.
BBQ Chicken Pizza (Php 299.95)

CPK Chicken BBQ Pizza was what I remembered while having this. Sweet barbeque flavored chicken on top of oven-baked thin crust pizza, the kind of taste I was routing for. Out of the 3 pizzas my tongue judged, this is my favorite. Plus, take a look at the price. Compared to other pizzas, this one’s the most affordable too!
Philly Cheese Steak Pizza (Php 369.95)
Rate: 3/5
Oven-baked thin crust pizza topped with beef, mozzarella and cream cheese. If you have tried the classic Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, the flavors are the same, only this one’s the pizza style.
Gambas Pizza (Php 329.95)

Spice of shrimps scattered equally on top of the pizza is for those who are fond of gambas as an appetizer. My mom is one of them so I bet she will be digging this pizza once she gets to try it. No need for hot or chili sauce. The pizza itself is already made to be spicy.
Cowboy Roll (Php 389.95)

This is what you call fusion! Thinly sliced U.S. Angus beef filled with shitake mushrooms, deep fried in tempura batter. Finishing this fusion sushi is asmall amount of sesame sauce. Removing onion leeks on my sushi was my choice. Enjoyed my japanese-american sushi more without those leeks. Don’t dare to use other sauces for your sushi, its sesame sauce is already the best for it.
Peanut Butter & Jelly Wings (Php 345.95)

Distinct kind of chicken wings as they used peanut butter to sauce up this dish. I am always amazed when simple dishes are transformed to something new. It excites me the most to eat dishes with a twist. I like the idea of using peanut butter as the sauce, with its jelly texture. My only comment is that the chicken meat I got for myself wasn’t cooked very well. Blood was still visible when I cut through the middle part.

Smoked Chiptotle Tequila Barbecue Beef Ribs (Php 649.95)

Last but not the least. This lip-smacking 600g Angus Beef ribs won my heart. It is slow roasted until tendered, which made it easier to munch. I love how their smoked chipotle tequila barbecue sauce made this beef ribs more delightful to eat. Its a dish that can ruin anyone’s diet. 😉
The only difficult part is slicing it since the huge rib bones are blocking the meat. But other than that, this dish is a must-order! Highly recommended for big eaters and meat lovers. Boys, you will love to get a plate of this!
So what can you say about the ambiance? I found the interiors very modern, classy and neat. Thank God Torch Restaurant is not miles away from my home. So if we run out of food at home, I’d probably find myself eating here with my family.
If ever I would go on a date, which is a rare case (HAHA!), I prefer to be in this kind of restaurant. Away from familiar malls where you see people you know. More private in a way. Plus, the set-up and location are perfect to enjoy good food.

Avoid the mainstream once in a while. For breakfast, lunch or dinner, Torch Restaurant is one restaurant to treat your appetite.

Pray, Eat and Love.
