Living in Greenhills is one of the things I am thankful for. Sounds shallow but I am truly thankful that my crib is accessible to various popular commercialized places. Not only to the ‘tiangge’ but also to several must-visits and legendary restaurants. Speaking of legendary restaurants, I would like to share one of my family’s favorite restaurants around the area, which is Cafe Ysabel.

I have already tried Cafe Ysabel years ago. We often go back and visit the restaurant when our taste buds crave for fine dining dishes and their special bread. I don’t have a photo of their complimentary Ciabatta bread and Italianni’s-like dip, but I am confident that you will love it if you are into gourmet food or simply a bread lover.

Napa Caesar’s Salad

One of my favorites in Cafe Ysabel is their Napa Caesar’s Salad. The fresh lettuce, spiced shrimp and grilled chicken, combined altogether with caesar dressing is a good starter. The dressing was just enough for the full salad meal. So I didn’t have to ask for extra dressing unlike in other restaurants, wherein I really have to ask for extra since the salad lacks dressing. At that time, I was only craving for salad, so that seemed to be my main dish for the night.

Salmon Lasagna

Salmon Lasagna was unbelievably delicious! This dish was filled with creamy cheese and thick salmon slices. I actually forgot that I ordered a pasta because I could barely taste the noodles. If you’re a fan of rice, you can treat Salmon Lasagna as your main dish.

Tiramisu Cake
I didn’t want to wait for “dessert time” anymore. So we told the waiter to serve our mini cakes immediately. Tiramisu cake for dessert or side dish to be specific. Haha! Their Tiramisu was not too sweet and quite fluffy in the inside. The outer covering of the cake looked hard but when you slice it through, it was actually soft also.
Carrot Cake
Carrot cake was my preferred dessert that night because I didn’t want anything chocolate. I just wanted something sweet to remove the remaining cheesy and creamy taste from the Salmon Lasagna. The nuts were easy to chew together with the soft texture of the Carrot cake. I like how it was presented on the plate, artsy and fancy.

Cafe Ysabel gave us their complimentary dessert. Their homemade vanilla ice cream with berries. 🙂 I prefer their ice cream than commercialized ice cream brands because of the quality of its taste. Once you taste it, you’d really know that it is prepared by a chef, not just made in any factory.

By looking at the ambiance of the restaurant, you would automatically say there is class.

Dining while being serenaded by a pianist is just an ideal date for the romantic ones. I wish I can go back to Cafe Ysabel, but this time, with a date. Hahahaha! I’m just kidding! 😉

A classic and antique dining spot to go back and forth. Cafe Ysabel never loses its flavor and its charm to win me back.
