Chicken wings occupy a big space in my heart. That’s the truth. Expressing myself to you succinctly, all chicken wings stores in the metro, I pay attention.
From Texas USA in 1994 as a small buffalo-style chicken wing restaurant to various parts of the world with over 700 branches, and now in the Philippines. Wingstop conquered quite a number of branches in Manila rapidly. That only means one thing for me, temptation is everywhere that I can’t resist giving in to Wingstop to see and try for myself. The closest to my home is Wingstop Promenade Greenhills. Convenience is enough to persuade me to schedule my lunch date with O.

The way to order at Wingstop may be a little distracting for first timers. Yes, I do speak for myself as a first timer. I was actually distracted by the flavor options pinned on the board. 10 flavors that I wanted to order in 1 sitting! I was picturing myself pigging out for chicken wings! Hahaha!

The Food:

Buffalo Chicken Salad (Php 225)
Rate: 2/5
Oh salad, why did you disappoint me? From my enthusiastic face, I turned wretched after meeting Buffalo Chicken Salad. First of all, its appearance disappointed me. Next, the greens didn’t taste fresh, really soggy and soaked in ranch dressing. The only thing that saved was the hot buffalo chicken bites on top. Without the chicken bites, the salad is a mess. Yayks!
Louisiana Rub Chicken Sandwich (Php 135)
Rate: 4/5
Thank God Louisiana Rub Chicken Sandwich saved and reversed the current situation care of the salad. Battered chicken in Louisiana rub smeared with bleu cheese dressing turned the beat up once again, bringing my energy back. Soft bread buns had an appropriate taste and texture too.

For the Chicken Wings, I ended up with Garlic Parmesan, mediterranean pair that smashes your breath and Hot Buffalo flavor, the original and pride of Wingstop for its classic blend of heat and tang. The two flavors together worked in unison, one spicy and one flavor that mellowed the spice down. Fun circulates around Wingstop’s flavors. Now I get what keeps them in business since 1994! Although, chicken wings in this restaurant are smaller in size.

Boneless Chicken Bites

Instead of boxing yourself with the idea of chicken wings alone, lead the munching to an easy road by choosing Boneless Chicken Bites. Like what I did, I kept my hands clean with just a fork.
I had a platter, 15 pcs. in 3 different flavors. Mango Habanero, Hickory Smoked BBQ and Lemon Pepper were my random picks for the boneless bites. Mango Habanero tricked me with its glazed sweetness at first impression then soon followed with habanero heating my tongue. Then, I tried Lemon Pepper, a quirky combination of 2 important ingredients – lemon and pepper. Lastly, Hickory Smoked BBQ brushed me with its big and bold smoky barbecue sauce. All 3 made an impact. Now that’s what you call flavorful choices!

The Ambiance:

Gratification isn’t instant. You use your patience as Wingstop only cooks your wings as you order from the counter. Don’t worry, it doesn’t take as long as 1 episode of How I Met Your Mother.
Bright and radiant colors with wooden furnishings, a casual set congruent to dine out with friends over chicken and beer.

High chairs give an informal feel. Again, my friends would probably take that table, not sure about my family.
