My generation opened my eyes to the world of technology. Back in my grade school and high school days, I’ve memorized every mobile phone – brand and model – released. It has been always the talk of the town, especially the guys. These days, it’s impossible for my brain bank to capture “all” mobile phones being released left and right. My selective memory will only take note of the worthy handsets I’m willing to pay for.
Since I acquired an android phone, I began to appreciate the edge of this mobile operating system. And after getting used to it, I became more interested looking at new and upcoming phones. One of the new phones that caught my eye is Asus ZenFone 2. The skeptic me consulted my techie partner, O, and asked if the new Asus ZenFone 2 is worth the money. Together, we opened the box and he helped me scrutinize the device.
Asus ZenFone 2 can be quite intimidating from its luxurious design, size and feel. The immediate reaction is that the phone looks expensive. In reality, it is a budget-friendly phone that doesn’t act like one. You get more than what you pay for!
“The price looks like an utter steal for such insane tech specs, and we can’t wait to see carriers release the device,” words from Androidorigin.
“The new ZenFone 2 boasts excellent specs at an affordable price.” -Reviewed.com
Now let’s get into details that might convince you to buy another phone that won’t cost your month’s salary. Let me show how Asus ZenFone 2 empowers luxury to everyone!

Why Asus ZenFone 2?

1. Aesthetic and Craftmanship
When I opened the box and held Asus ZenFone 2 in my hands, I immediately noticed how comfortable holding it is because of its back curves. Easy to grip and its exquisite hairline with metallic finish doesn’t collect fingerprints that look untidy.
The rear key is the most intuitive way to use a smartphone. Your index finger won’t have a hard time reaching the rear key to adjust the volume or better yet, take a selfie. There aren’t any buttons on the left and right side that keep the phone look slim and sassy.
Ladies, admit that we like pretty things and looks matter. I have to say Asus ZenFone 2 looks very sleek and stylish. With its extremely thin edge at 3.9mm, you can easily slip in your bag’s pocket. The size is not way too big, not too small for your fingers with 5.5-inch display screen in a 5-inch body size.
Micro USB port is located on where it is normally placed, at the bottom. Asus ZenFone 2 includes a 3000mAh lithium-polymer with fast-charge technology.

For the sound sensitive, you can find its dual mono speakers at the back.
2. Camera Features
To address the selfie craze of the city, I made use of Asus ZenFone’s front facing camera with real-time beautification mode. After taking a selfie, edit right on the spot by using functions like skin softening, skin brightening, blush, eyes enhance, cheek thinning and color correction. In this photo, I only used skin softening as it lightened my pores. With low light conditions, front camera can adapt and still take a decent selfie.
Another cool feature of Asus ZenFone 2 I discovered is the Time Rewind Camera Mode. An advanced burst shots mode that captures a set of continuous shots in 2 seconds. How we took this photo – O pressed the shutter button and it already captured my movements 2 seconds before the actual shot. You can easily navigate through the shots and choose the best one. So if you picked your nose before the shot, better check if that was captured.
There are more camera features to explore! Just be playful enough to utilize numerous camera options.
3. Double Tap to open and close
ZenFone 2 is manageable in one hand. With double tap feature, it makes opening and closing the screen faster without reaching the home button on top. My techie sister also agrees it’s a smart idea to add this wake up and sleep gesture.
4. Zen Motion
Touch Gestures allow you to activate specific phone apps instantly when the device display is on sleep mode. Quick shortcuts for the lazy fingers.
Gestures:
C to launch Camera
W to launch Browser
O to launch Calendar
e to launch Email
Z to launch ASUS Booster
V to launch Dialer
5. Snapview
For people with 2 separate phones for work and personal uses, Asus ZenFone 2 unites two needs in one phone with Snapview feature. This allows you to create two different profiles – one for personal, one for business. Privacy is assured since you’re the only one who can access these two profiles you created.
6. 4GB RAM suitable for gamers.
Now boys, pay attention to this. Asus ZenFone 2 might be the next on your wish list as it is said to be the first smartphone that takes pride in its 4GB RAM. The phone has an incredible gaming performance with OpenGL 3.0. Perfectly fit for gamers – fast, snappy, and responsive without any lag for HD quality games. Loading time, what kids hate the most, was very minimal. Also, it is visually not a disappointment with its sharpness and customizable screen color and saturation. O had the phone for a while and played Real Racing 3. He agrees that high performance games won’t be a trouble downloading for Asus ZenFone 2.
As a heavy mobile phone user, I won’t be able to grasp the good side of Asus ZenFone 2 until I experience it myself. Since I used the phone for more than a week, I learned that access to luxurious and high-end features is now possible. I was able to see what others can’t see. To summarize, Asus ZenFone 2 is a phone that empowers luxury at a reasonable cost.
Own luxury… Besides, luxury is for everyone!
