Carrying cards instead of cash appears to be more convenient for most shoppers in the metro. However, credit card portals are not always available in small businesses, including merchants in bazaars. You don’t have a choice but to look for the nearest ATM machine, line up and withdraw cash. Recently, I found out that GCash had already addressed that problem.

GCash

GCash, the mobile money service of Globe Telecom, welcomed the yuletide season by holding its first-ever GCash Bazaar at Eastwood Mall last October 24-26, 2014, in celebration of its 10th anniversary in the mobile money industry.
Before I roamed around the bazaar, I attended the press conference held at My Thai Kitchen Eastwood to acquire more details about GCash and the new baby of GCash for businessmen called Globe Charge.
“We are capping off our week-long celebration of our 10th anniversary with our biggest GCash Bazaar ever. With our partner-merchants using Globe Charge to accept payments, we promise our customers a wonderful shopping experience.” –Xavier Marzan, Chief Operating Officer of G-Xchange (GXI), operator of GCash
Two entrepreneurs, Carol Lim of BC Fragrances and Charles Pestaña of Bagmaster, joined that afternoon to share their Globe Charge experience and how it helped boost their businesses as a whole.
By using Globe Charge, customers who don’t carry cash may use their credit cards instead.
According to Xavier Marzan, “We are changing the way bazaars do business in the country by helping small and medium enterprises provide more payment options to their customers, thereby growing their customer base and boosting their sales.”
Now I know you’re curious how Globe Charge looks like.
So, here it goes! A tiny little device entrepreneurs use to accept credit or debit cards for payment.
Yep, you swipe your card and the merchant instantly accepts your payment. Exactly how credit card portals work!
Convenience? Globe gives that to you!

The Bazaar:

GCash doesn’t stop there! If you don’t have a credit card to carry around, GCash now offers the GCash MasterCard. At the bazaar, Globe had a booth to accept applicants who wish to get their own GCash MasterCard, which acts exactly how a debit and credit card works. Use the card to swipe and pay safely in shops and online in the Philippines; withdraw from ATM machines or GCash-out Outlets; and even track all your spendings.
