The start of gloomy weather is a sign for saying goodbye to summer. Since the month of June started, the baffling weather confuses me on what to wear. Small problem but matters to me when I go out to events. Am I gonna wear my sweater for this weather? Or am I gonna stick to the cool summer look since the sun strikes from time to time. Oh the weather moods swing from right to left. But one afternoon, it was gloomy, hot and raindrops pour from time to time. My mood for food was quite affected by the weather. Due to this gloomy and rainy weather, I, together with O, decided to swing by Greenfield District for a hot bowl of ramen.
Ramen Bar Greenfield District is the only Ramen Bar where you can taste the new and improved ramen broth. (Well, for now. I don’t exactly know when they’re gonna bring this to other branches as well.) Compared to how Ramen Bar prepares their ramen, they tried an improved process wherein the ramen broth used is now made with more fresh pork bones and topped with abura or pork back fat.

The Food:

Karaage (Php 155)
Rate: 3/5
Before trying what Ramen Bar has been raving about, I started my meal with chicken Karaage A reasonable price for four large cuts of chicken. Quite oily when you bite in but the crunch of every munch cannot be taken away, which is actually good. I just don’t get attracted to fried food that shows you how much oil you’ve eaten.

Kakuni Buns (Php 220)
Rate: 4/5
A better starter, Kakuni Buns, with that soft and meaty pork sandwiched between soft yet firm bite-sized buns. It wasn’t too strong as a starter, which was perfect before I began my ‘brothy’ ramen.

RBS #1 (Php 380)
Rate: 5/5
The best-seller you cannot go wrong with, RBS #1. Ramen Bar made the right move of improving their pork broth. Longer time of boiling pork bones with additional ingredient to enhance the taste, and that’s the Abura. I tasted the difference as I sipped into its creamier and thicker soup with rich flavors playing inside my mouth. Better flavor, plus more pork back fat in this ramen. You don’t care about being fatty, then get this RBS #1.
Spicy Karaage Ramen (Php 280)
Rate: 4/5
A new found favorite at Ramen Bar, Spicy Karaage Ramen. There were too much pork fat flavors swimming in my mouth so I wanted to balance it out with something spicy. I love the richness of spices with a good number of karaage on my bowl. Already a meal to fill my hungry stomach tank.
Ebi Tempura (Php 380)
Rate: 4/5
Juicy and crunchy prawns got me right there. The attraction for Ebi Tempura is not normal for me but that afternoon at Ramen Bar had me finish about 2 pieces. I wanted to add one more but I have to share with O. Hehe.

Mushroom Gyudon (Php 220)
Rate: 4/5
US Beef Belly, Shimeji Mushroom, Oyster Mushroom and Shitake Mushroom all in one bowl if you can’t handle just one type of mushroom in your bowl.

Tempura Ice Cream (Php 150)
Rate: 3/5
Better for the tempura batter to be hotter and crunchier than how it was served. An innovative type of dessert that isn’t a first at Ramen Bar, but I’d still give credits to them for putting this dessert as part of their menu.
Iced Vanilla Yuzu Latte (Php 130)
Coolers are also available at the Greenfield District branch.
Iced Choco Almond Latte (Php 130)

The Ambiance:

Ramen Bar’s Greenfield Branch cooled my eyes despite the gloomy weather outside. The clean looking restaurant entices me to sit around and focus on my ramen. Oh, and focus talking with O as well. Hehe. Clean captivates me. It’s one thing I love about this branch is the cleanliness wherever my eyes land on.
Limited parking spaces are available along the sidewalk of restaurants at Greenfield District. Dinner time will always be the worst time to get a parking slot easily.
For a taste of the newly improved Ramen Bar, Greenfield District branch should be the one to visit.
