Glorify yourself and you will never be satisfied. But if you glorify the King of all Kings and Lord of Lords, an unexplainable satisfaction is gratified.
This world we live in will never complete us. From a worldly perspective, we are fooled by our surroundings saying that being successful is measured by the money we make, the kind of family and partner we have, the growth of our career, the assets and everything we possess that glorifies ourselves and makes the world say, “Wow! I want to be like you!”, “You’re the best!” and all other praises coming from the world that makes our ego shoot up high.
Last 2013, God was in the chapter of my life where he taught me one main thing, embracing simplicity through accepting God is more than enough for me.
I have to be honest. As soon as I graduated to get my bachelor’s degree, my concept of being successful was being distorted by the world. My parents never failed to guide me but the media is just too strong that never lets me go. The media around me gave me that picture of success. It’s all about climbing the stairs of success to acquire more wealth. The media drew a picture in my head that I have to be like this, I should do that, I must attain this in order to be stamped with the word “success”. Yes, it is still all about learning while in that process of climbing up but the concept of putting God at the center is not actually being prioritized. The media battles with my mind. That’s when I realized that if my guards on my mind is too weak, the media will eat me up and inject images that will corrupt my mind.
I am so grateful God never left my side and is always in the process of shaping my character and transforming my mind. He didn’t allow me to end my year not knowing how to embrace life by being simply satisfied with His grace and love for me. Through quiet moments with Him, He reminded me that I am His priceless princess. He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross to save me from my sins. That alone should be the standard for being completely satisfied in Him alone. As God whispered to my ears, “Am I not enough for you?”.
I really felt so ashamed of myself for being greedy and not finding satisfaction in Him. 2013 was the year where He showed me that His grace is enough more than anything in this world.
Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
He picks me up at my lowest and shows me how great He truly is. He allowed my struggle to be my way to turn to Him instead.
Last 2013, I am more than grateful for giving me more than what I wanted.
Life is all about loving the Creator more than the Creation.
It is all about loving the Giver than the Gifts.
Life is truly about loving God more than anything in this world.

All I experienced and achieved last 2013 was never about me. All glory and praises to Him who was there, who never left me nor forsake me. 🙂

This 2014, it’s another journey for me to live life to the fullest according to my King’s will.
As His servant, He must increase, but I must decrease (John 3:30)
For all you foodies out there, I pray this 2014 will be a meaningful yet a one of a kind. I’d like to bless you with this verse,
