Lady: Buy 1 Take 1 on pizzas!
Me: (While walking alone looking for a dining place for the family, I stopped and walked backwards to the lady.)
Lady: Ms., buy 1 take 1 on pizzas!
Me: Nice! Can I check your menu?
Lady: Buy 1 Take 1 on those pizzas. (pointing to the menu)
Me: Okay, I’ll be back.
Decided to eat dinner with my family at Capricciosa simply because of their Buy 1 Take 1 promo.
That’s how easy it was for me to decide.
I called my family right away. They were scattered around the ground level of the mall so it took time before I brought all of them to Capricciosa. Capricciosa has a franchise in Manila as well, reason why mom didn’t refuse. She was familiar with the food and for her, that pizza promo was the perfect marketing strategy to catch us, customers.
Free Tomato Soup
The buy 1 take 1 deal was too catchy for us to be magnetized inside Capricciossa. What we didn’t expect was this another freebie, 4 free tomato soup for the 4 of us. Yay!! I love generous restaurants, well who doesn’t?
Not only it was free, it was full of flavor, rich and creamy. A starter anyone would be fond of while eating at an Italian restaurant.
Spaghetti with Special Meat Sauce (MYR 23.90)
Rate: 4/5
Little kids’ default meal would be either fried chicken or spaghetti. No longer a little kid yet I still consider a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce as my top option. A daylight sunshine kind of meal for me. McDonald’s is right, spaghetti is a happy meal!
I consider Cappriciosa’s special meat sauce better than ordinary, but not under a special category. It captured my interest in eating spaghetti but really, nothing so special about it. I could tell it’s well done though.
Spicy Seafood Aglio Olio (MYR 22.90)
Rate: 4/5
It’s spicy, it’s seafood and it’s pasta, what else could I ask for?
Hmm… I know. Maybe more seafoods? Hehe. I’m a lady who can have random seafood cravings. Sometimes, I decline meat as part of my meal. Yep, that’s true. Replacing red meat, I go for seafood. Whichever’s available on the menu, as long as it’s seafood. That night, I just can’t let the night pass by without a plate of anything seafood.
My choice of Spicy Seafood Aglio Olio was not a dismay. As I ate the pasta noodles, I already figured out it was fused with its seafood flavor. The taste of squid, shrimps and clams were distinct.

Capricciosa Pizza (MYR 19.90)
Our free pizza!
Dices of bell peppers and smoky beef on top of mozzarella cheese. Yes, the ingredients were fantastic but the dough is more appealing to me.

Quattro Formaggi (MYR 22.90)

The ever famous flavor of pizza our family adores. You can’t get wrong with this flavor. Anything cheese is truly a weight-gainer and a palate satisfier.
As of today, MYR/PHP = 0.07314.
The night of mom’s birthday celebration, the staff of Capricciosa gave her a banging greeting of happy birthday. What do I mean by banging? They brought out their cooking pans and utensils, bang the silverware pan which created noise in the restaurant. They were doing those gestures while “singing” the traditional happy birthday song.
I couldn’t stop laughing how these Africans and Malaysians greeted mom. It didn’t sound like a song, it was more of a shouting “Happy Birthday To You” yell. 🙂
Mom gave an applause for that entertainment. It wasn’t a surprise to her to be sang by the restaurant crew. What came to a surprise was the manner they did it. Hilarious! :))
These Africans were the best employees in Malaysia! The entire time we were there, they treated us with care, extra accommodation and full-blown service. From start to end, they were consistent.
By the way, both of them led the banging Happy Birthday song for mom. Cute and funny! :))
Dinner at Capricciosa is one of the highlights of our Malaysian trip. That excellent service and food from Capriciossa gave me a good impression of what kind of employees Africans are – full of smiles and love for their work. 🙂
