Steamed Fresh Scallops Dumpling

Who in this world will say ‘No’ to Dim Sum All-You-Can? Do you even consider saying ‘No thanks’ to it? If you ask me, I wouldn’t even think of rejecting that idea. Dim Sum is the main reason for my appetite for Chinese cuisine. As far as I’m concerned, it’s one of the genius creations of Chinese men, Dim Sum.
Luckily, Hyatt Hotel’s Li Li caters to my choice of Chinese cuisine.
Honestly speaking, Hyatt is not on top of my mind when you speak of hotels in Manila. I’m not that familiar with the area and it’s quite far from where I live. Finding out they offer Dim Sum buffet for only Php 888, Hyatt Hotel’s Li Li might be stuck in my head. Or better yet, it might be part of my favorite hotels in Metro Manila.
Free appetizers
On one Saturday, I tried Hyatt Hotel’s Li Li with Oliver. Days before our planned lunch, I already had preparations not to eat anything Chinese. It wasn’t 100% accomplished, I guess only about 80%. I really had to create my own game plan since I knew I will be stuffing myself with unlimited dim sum. My plan worked in some way. I had the energy and excitement to eat every single dim sum on the menu. Now I know the meaning of ‘deprivation’. I deprived myself from eating Chinese food for a week.
Deep Fried Prawn & Crabmeat

The first photo above, Steamed Fresh Scallops Dumpling, is part of my top 5 favorites at Li Li. Aside from the fact that I was really hungry when I first ate it, I noticed the freshness of scallops used that channels throughout the piece of dim sum. In addition to that, I love eating scallops. This is a must-try dim sum!
Deep Fried Prawn & Crabmeat is also pretty tasteful but not that interesting. One piece is enough. Or else, too much oily and fried food for me.
Steamed Fish Dumpling

Using fish as the main ingredient for a dim sum seemed to be a failure for me after getting a piece of Steamed Fish Dumpling. The entire dim sum is boring. It lacks so much flavor.
Baked BBQ Pastry Puff

A sweet BBQ pastry that’s fried to charm both of us. This adds to our favorite list from the plates we ordered.
Steamed Crab Meat Dumpling, Black Mushroom

Steamed Shrimp, Dried Seaweed Roll, Asparagus
Rate: 3/5
Adding soy sauce and chili oil is not appropriate for this type of dim sum. The soup included served to be its sauce. Seaweed used as part of the dim sum looks like sushi to my eyes. How about a mixture of sushi and dim sum? Actually doesn’t taste queer but appealing to me.
How does our table look? This was our 3rd set of Chinese plates. You should see our bloated faces after eating. We were both ready to run and burn those free calories.

Steamed Chicken Feet in Abalone Sauce
Rate: 4/5
I’m not a fan of Chicken feet so I let Oliver take charge of finishing our this order.
Oliver blames me each time he gains weight. And I kinda feel guilty and responsible for that.
But after seeing this picture…. nahhh, I think he loves food with or without me letting him finish what’s on our table.

Soya Sauce Chicken
When the chicken was served, I was already in the mood for desserts. Dim sum I had already filled up my stomach. I still got the chance to take a bite of this Soya Sauce Chicken. It’s one delightful plate of chicken. Heads up for you, order this chicken right away before you get yourself stuffed with dim sum.

Chilled Mango Sago with Pomelo
Rate: 5/5
In almost all Chinese restaurants I tried, Chilled mango sago is the favorite. But out of all, this small bowl of Chilled Mango Sago is the one that stands out. The flavor of pomelo adds more freshness, zest and texture, which charmed me. The mango puree is cold, thick and creamy. A refreshing fruity treat after a loaded dim sum buffet.
Steamed Egg Custard with Dessicated Coconut
Rate: 5/5
Dessicated came from the word ‘dessicate’, which means ‘to dry up’ or process of extreme dryness. The dessicated coconut was used as its outer cover or shell because of its thorough dry texture. Inside this dry coconut cover is sweetness of white chocolate that is apparently delightful.

Oliver is now expert in doing a “selfie” or as we call it, “couplie” shot since we’re a couple.
The interiors of Li Li strikes its elegance and sophistication through its chandeliers, art pieces and wine displays.
Please take me back to Li Li?
With all the dim sum I ate and with the five-star service and ambiance, Php888 is worth it.
Oliver and I had a superb time during our lunch at Li Li. All we could think of after eating is, “how do we burn all these calories?”. Haha! We totally forgot about our healthy diet. Li Li had too much tempting dim sum that we couldn’t help but use our chopsticks in all edible things on the table.

Li Li’s Dim Sum buffet is available from Mondays to Saturdays, 12-3pm.
Thank you Hyatt Hotel for this experience. Your staff are very congenial to us. 🙂
