“Would the cookware matter…?” If you believe in health and wellness, the answer is YES.
Before I hit the month of August, I was invited by Rustans and Thermos’ Celebrating Health event held at the Grand Atrium of Shangri-la Plaza. This event answers the question mentioned earlier. As a foodie in general, you wouldn’t really care too much about how your food is being cooked. For some of us, what matters are the taste, the restaurant, the price, but the way it was cooked or where it was cooked never became too much of a big deal. The cookware could probably be the least priority.
Thermos proved to me how we should not be apathetic towards how our meals are being prepared because our health is the one affected. The products by Thermos gave me more knowledge and wisdom in the area of “cooking”.

Mr. King Del Rosario, Thermos Head of Brand Marketing, gave us a brief background of what makes Thermos different from other cookwares. Quality, the big word that got stuck to my head throughout the event. He said something about the high quality products they have plus the technology they use to make the food taste better than its usual taste.

According to Mr. Del Rosario, Thermos is proud to have the Thermax insulation technology, which could preserve the coldness and hotness of your meals for a minimum of 6 hours.
If I explain more of Thermos’ cookware, it might get too technical and make it look like I’m actually selling them. Haha! But seriously, I was just amazed on how cool their products are. No doubt chefs choose Thermos for their kitchen.

Speaking of chefs, Chef Ninyo Laus entertained us by teaching us how to cook using Thermos products. What’s cool about him is that he shared his “secret” recipes to us. So yeah, those are not secrets anymore. Haha! Together with Mary Viernes, both of them gave all their energy to liven up the whole event.

Quick fact: Chef Ninyo Laus owns Ninyo Fusion Cuisine & Wine Lounge (QC). He is also one of the chefs in the kitchens of Robot (Manila Peninsula, Makati) and Blue Onion (Eastwood, QC).

The secret recipes Chef Ninyo Laus shared are:

1. Fusion Paellahttp://on.fb.me/n6Vxtu
2. Coconut Wasabi Seafood Medleyhttp://on.fb.me/mXuSb9
3. Ninyo Style Vongollehttp://on.fb.me/ouRcFg
4. Wasabi Orange Chickenhttp://on.fb.me/oh8cCY
5. Beef Stir Fryhttp://on.fb.me/r00UgR
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to try any of those recipes. They only showed us videos of the cooking demo. So I don’t have anything to share about how the meal tasted 🙁

After the food demonstrations, they served us some cocktail food like this one, Chips with Tuna Mayonnaise, prepared by Craving’s.

Products from Thermos are really promising. You could say they are pricey but I’m telling you, they are worth their price, guys. For me, quality is a huge factor. And if you are on the hunt for quality products, then Thermos is the brand for you.

Jugs and lunch-boxes by Thermos will preserve the flavor, the hotness or coldness, and the freshness of your food/beverage.

Philosophical question: Can the ice cream be preserved inside a Thermos container?
Answer: Of course…Yes! It can actually keep its original temperature for more than 6 hours!

What I like about their cookware is the fact that you can actually cook like a “pro”. If you watch the videos by Chef Ninyo Laus, which I pasted also in this entry, you would see how easy it is to cook using Thermos Premium Stainless cookware. From a banker’s point of view, the products are an investment for your home.

Had a chat with Chef Ninyo Laus 🙂

Thank you Thermos for this useful red mug. 🙂

Again, Thanks to Thermos and Rustans for inviting me! Both brands will always be a legend. Looking forward to shop in Rustans tomorrow, maybe buy shoes plus some Thermos products too! 🙂
