Next week, the couples and lovers will be out and congest the city with ants around them for the big V-day. I’ve talked to some men. Quite a small percentage already reserved restaurants for their dates since end of January. For some, still undecided on whether they’ll join the Valentine’s day bandwagon or choose to prepare something else at home. We all have our own versions of Valentine’s day but I know one thing is certain, it’s the day to express our love and appreciation to our partners.
For those who are still spending their time ‘googling’ on where to take their partners on Valentine’s day, this might be what you’re looking for. It’s not too late to reserve at Lucia Ristorante.
Spend a night of romance with Lucia Ristorante’s 4-course degustation menu, Prosecco Sparkling Wine and live entertainment to serenade you.
Lucia Ristorante specializes in authentic Italian cuisine created by the well-known Chef Davide Lombardi. Does the name ring a bell? Yes, he’s also the man behind the Italian restaurant Lombardi’s.
Hotel Celeste
Tucked in the middle of Makati’s commercial district, Hotel Celeste is right behind Greenbelt Mall along Pasay Road.

The Menu:

Before surprising yourself on February 14, we reviewed the menu that will feed you and your date.
O and I scheduled our Lucia Ristorante date ahead to show you what they’re about to serve you. Also, as you read along, you might stumble into my Valentine’s Blog Giveaway with Lucia Ristorante.

The Food:

Amouche Bouche
While waiting for our ‘Antipasto,’ a baby bite of delight warmed up our palate accompanied with a glass of wine.
Prosecco Wine
Both of us received 1 glass of Prosecco Wine – an Italian sparkling white wine made from Glera grapes.
Crema Di Funghi Alla “Valdostana”
Rate: 4/5
Forest mushroom soup, creamy assorted soup with cheese croutons. Starting the course with this gentle Antipasto took me to a field of Italian ambiance. O and I looked at each other and agreed it was seriously a smashing taste. Unfortunately, the small serving made us crave for more. Hehe. We just laughed it out and patiently waited for the next course.
Mozzarella Di Bufala “Bellavista”
Rate: 4/5
Marinated mozzarella with basil olive oil capers and a splash of olive vinaigrette. Freshness from the garden of eden with a treat of rich slices of mozzarella.
Paglia E Fieno Al “Brucio Piemontese”
Rate: 5/5
A lady who can’t say no to spaghetti will definitely be tickled by this home-made green and white color tagliarini with meat ragon and herb garlic butter. Smoothly executed with the fragrant freshness of herbs and tomatoes. Chef Lombardi haven’t failed me with his pasta dish. I was reminded by his cooking demo when he prepared fresh pasta for his audience.
Dentice Arrosio Ai Due Sapori
Rate: 5/5
For the main course, you get to choose either the fish or the lamb. I thought my steak-eater partner will choose steak over fish. He surprisingly fell more attached to this pan-seared lapu-lapu with roasted potato wedges and bell pepper with saffron sauce. I agree with him, fish was cooked perfectly at its right temperature creating that plump and juicy meat and crispy skin.
Costolette D’Agnello Alle Mandorle Con Risotto Alle Erbe
Rate: 4/5
Almond crusted lamb chop with assorted herb risotto and lamb sauce. Aside from the lamb meat, the risotto had me focusing more on my food. Just a friendly reminder, don’t forget you’re with a date. Not a date with your food. :p
Spuma Al Cioccolato All’Arancio
Rate: 4/5
Thick chocolate mousse squeezed in with citrus taste of orange. Switching from savory to zesty was a burst of brightness.

The Ambiance:

The semi-fine dining environment of Lucia Ristorante may be perfect for those who are near or in the Makati area.
According to Lucia Ristorante, couples will be serenaded by live entertainment on Valentine’s day.
Main Lobby of Hotel Celeste
Other than a celebration for couples at Lucia Ristorante, the restaurant offers Chef’s Table packages for groups who quantify privacy as an important aspect.
Special occasions like birthdays, meetings or other gatherings may fit in this set-up.
