The name Magnum have created a sounding voice of premium ice cream. All over the world, Magnum is believed to be the brand that brings in premium surprises with its irresistible ice cream creations. The fine ingredients that results to silky ice cream dipped in thick Belgian chocolate surely gives pleasure to any dessert lover.
I, as a Filipina, am proud to say that Magnum Cafe is now in Manila!
There is no need to take the plane to catch Magnum pop-up stores in Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney and Indonesia. It is finally here! The gossips are no longer gossips about Magnum Cafe. This pop-up store have landed in our very own Manila! Wooohooooo! But wait, let me reiterate that it’s a pop-up store. To clear things out, this pop-up store will only be here for 12 months. Yep, 12 months in Manila! And after 12 months, they fly out to another country.
You don’t want to miss out on that am I right?
Before it opens up to the public on April 8, 2014, I had the opportunity to get a sneaky peek to what Magnum Manila has in store for us Filipinos. As I entered Magnum Cafe, I felt like I was in a buffet restaurant with adults standing in line for the “make your own Magnum bar”. And that thrilled my thirst for lotsa ice cream!
As I approached the ice cream station, a “pleasure maker” assisted me on how to make my own magnum bar.
It all starts with a plain vanilla magnum bar.
First, my pleasure maker asked me what to coat my Magnum bar. Choices were Magnum Gold, Milk Chocolate or Dark Chocolate.
Second, she asks me to choose 3 toppings.
The difficult part was this part. So much to choose from and I couldn’t decide easily. Thanks to the pleasure makers, these congenial folks know what they’re doing. Since I couldn’t decide properly, my ‘pleasure maker’ helped me create the kind of Magnum bar I wanted to end up with.
Watching them make my Magnum bar makes my jaw drop. I felt like I was in a Willy Wonka room.
After they coat and top it all off, I waited around 2-3 minutes for my perfect Magnum bar to settle.

While finishing my Magnum ice cream bars, John Concepcion and Biran Chanyungco had a little chitchat with us.
They were also too kind to bring us out more dessert dishes made by Chef Miko Asprias.
