How can I not believe that there is a God if He has already shown Himself through my family? How can I doubt God’s love if this is the kind of love He constantly gives me?
The love I’ll be sharing more is the love I felt during my birthday this 2013. Last January 23 was declared a “holiday” among my family members. To begin with, dad, mom, Oliver and I surprised me with a birthday cake at exactly 12am. While Oliver and I were chitchatting at the living room, mom and dad surprised me by singing Happy Birthday at 12am and handed me over the Sansrival cake. Everyone was awake just to make sure I start my day right. Aren’t they so sweet and cute?
I wasn’t prepared for any photos, reason why I looked kind of haggard. Haha! The picture might not show how overwhelmed I was deep inside.
I couldn’t get off my iPhone because of the numerous birthday greetings I received from my friends. For those who greeted me, you guys made me smile!!! 😀 Thank you from the belly bottom of my heart. 🙂
On January 23, the day itself, mom and dad brought me to Edsa Shangri-la’s Heat. It was no surprise anymore since they know how I adore Edsa Shangri-la and their restaurants, including Heat of course. They know me too well to know where to bring me on my day.
Chef Rico accommodated us by serving us his specialties, aside from the dishes served at the buffet area.
Here are some photos of that gastronomic lunch:
A plate of steamed Garlic Crabs. Never leave Heat without touching their seafoods.
U.S. Rib-eye Steak
Dumplings to complete my Chinese palate.
Mild-spicy Laksa for my soup
The Happy Birthday girl! I am extremely thankful to God’s blessings – the food, my family, and for the fact He gave me LIFE.
I love Heat’s original Birthday jingle. It wasn’t the ordinary “Happy Birthday” song you usually hear. Oh, and check out their portable speakers. It was like a mini production – song & dance number – from Heat’s crew. You deserve a fist bump from me, Heat crew!
I forgot to mention earlier that Oliver was one of the surprises that day. He, together with my parents, had to act that he was out of Metro Manila for work. According to him, He could only join us for dinner. After my 1st plate of Japanese food, salmon sashimi and sushi, I heard a weird sound from the back. It was him who tried to surprise me as he appeared like a genie.
I praise God for wonderful parents who never stop disciplining and discipling me because they love me. Could be tough love at times, just like how God is to us.
I praise God for my family who never fails to support me and give me strength.
I praise God for my mom who selflessly love me next to dad and God.
I praise God for making me feel special every single day and giving me this special friend.
“I praise God for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, His works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14
For an imperfect sinner like me, I don’t deserve any of these awesome things on earth. Proves how great is our God by saving a wretch like me and giving me unconditional love. His love is everlasting. If only I can kiss and hug God at this point, I will.
Giving me another year to live is truly a precious gift from Him. Knowing Him makes me appreciate life even more. Now that I am 22, I know He is in control of my life. I have thousands of plans for myself. But I have no choice but to surrender them to the wisest who knows far way better than my little brain.
Thank you Lord for my birthday. Thank you for making each year better and better. 🙂
Pray, Eat and Love.
Cheers,
The Food Scout
