13th of July, probably one of the highlights of my 2011. It may be shallow for you but for me it isn’t. Last Wednesday afternoon was my first time to be in front of a crowd and speak about my BLOG. Usually, I go in front of a crowd to talk about politics, school, events, and other topics. Never did I imagine that I would speak about my baby, The Food Scout blog.
DLSU University Student Government invited me, and fellow bloggers, to speak for their very first Bloggers Congress. When their events head asked me to speak, I was quite unsure if I was suitable for this one. Two things came up to my mind. First, I was doubting my capabilities to speak. Second, I was overwhelmed and thrilled to do it. Despite the two contradicting thoughts I had, my decision leaned to the YES part. So here I am, showing you The Food Scout’s first talk! 🙂

5 speakers / bloggers: Jason Magbanua, Nina Fuentes, David Guison, Lissa Kahayon

The event was held in Andrew Bldg. Oh how I miss frosh freshmen days when I entered this building!

As the first speaker, I basically gave them blogging tips, dos & don’ts and shared a bit of how I am as a blogger. I incorporated everything in my very own definition of B.L.O.G. The most memorable for the audience is my meaning of G, which is Go for it or Go lang ng Go! 🙂

Stole some photos from Elora. 🙂

I had a little game for the audience before ending my part. I asked them to answer my question: “What is the meaning of G in B.L.O.G.?”

Two very confident participants went in front to do an action while saying the answer. Sarah did her cowgirl/party move of Go For it!

And the winning move was the Go lang ng Go extreme move. It was the crowd’s favorite. Hence, he won 2 GCs from Boulevard Diner. 🙂

I didn’t know that there would be an open forum after my speech. Thank you to those who asked me questions! 🙂

Next to me was Nina Fuentes of Just Wandering. It was a privilege to meet and sit beside one of the top Travel Bloggers. While she was speaking about her experiences, I couldn’t help but tell myself, I wanna TRAVEL again, but for free! (I wish!)

This caught my attention, free trip! Wow right?

After Nina’s part, the two hosts, Marco and Jerik, entertained the audience by raffling some prizes.

Some of the event’s active audience. Yes, they were active because they kept on asking questions! 🙂

Fashion blogger Lissa Kahayon of Scene Stealer shared to us the life of a fashion blogger. You couldn’t take away the word free again because she gets free clothes, shoes and accessories!

Up next was the artistic blogger, David Guison. Hearing his humble speech really inspired students and even me, as a blogger.

Don’t you just love his fashion style? Mix and match of the basics was his key to eye-catching fashion.

Styling tips from David and Lissa! 🙂

Lastly, the famous Jason Magbanua made us want to become Wedding videographers too! His words were just so powerful that made everyone listen, laugh and be amazed.

He shared to us one of his wedding videos. Can I just say, I wanna hire him when I get married. (the question is when?) hahaha!

Nicole was such a cute host! 🙂 Energized from start to end.

Bloggers in different fields.

Thank you to the events team for inviting me! Congrats on the successful event!

I really feel appreciated. Hehe. It was a learning and humbling experience to be able to speak. My day ended with a huge grin! 😀 Once again, I am thankful to be chosen as one of the speakers at the Bloggers Congress. Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Without God’s help, I am nobody. To Him be all the glory.
