Over the years, the city we live in develop and urbanize without us realizing. An empty lot converted to a mall, more cars parked in streets and so much more. With poor urban planning, our city is on the path of a disaster.

The Ayala Land group, the country’s leading real estate developer is eyeing on Balintawak as its next big project to develop. I trust these guys. Based on the successful projects they did, Nuvali, BGC, etc., I know Ayala will not only dig and construct a building for profit. Both the community and the businesses will benefit from it. Ayala Land is about to develop an 11-hectare master planned mixed-use development right at the juncture of North Luzon Expressway, EDSA, and A. Bonifacio Avenue. Calling this project Cloverleaf Balintawak, it will be the next site of landscaped pedestrian promenade, wide road networks, lush greeneries and exquisite architecture.

A big lifestyle change for the area, the new Avida Towers Cloverleaf will be among the residential buildings to be constructed. It is a three-tower development offering right-sized units – 2-BR and 3-BR. Also, there will be retail strips, a shopping mall, office buildings and a hospital, Qualimed Hospital.
It’s actually difficult to imagine now since we all know Balintawak for its rows of restaurants and car retail shops, found in Banawe St. For now, we enjoyed what this side of the North has to offer by roaming and eating around. This is what we call, Cloverleaf Northern Bite Food Tour.
From morning to afternoon, the Ayala team brought us to 6 different restaurants around Banawe. With our stomachs prepared, we indulged and experienced the best-sellers of every restaurant we visited.
1st Stop: G’s Cafe
802 Banawe St. Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philppines
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GsCafePh/
G’s Cafe is where you can stop for coffee. While having your car fixed downstairs, take a bite from their freshly made sandwiches partnering it with a cup of joe. Car enthusiasts frequent Banawe for all their car needs. It’s a lot cheaper to get the services of the car shops in Banawe than your car’s “casa”. So while waiting for your hubby at the car shop, you could sit and standby at G’s Cafe.

The theme continues the tale of cars, vintage decors inspired by the road.
Camber Crispy Bacon & Honey Cured Ham Sandwich (Php 165)
Rate: 4/5
Bribed by the egg on top, Camber Crispy Bacon & Honey Cured Ham Sandwich was my top choice of sandwich for breakfast. You’ve got bacon, ham and egg. Thus, I’m complete!
Radial Roast Beef Sandwich (Php 228)
Rate: 2.5/5
My share of Radial Roast Beef Sandwich lacked generosity with its meat. Saving space for the other 5 restaurants, a bite or two were enough.
Breaded Ham & Cheese Sandwich (Php 120)
Rate: 4/5
Breaded Ham & Cheese Sandwich took me back to my gradeschool years when I used to love this as a snack.
2nd Stop: Lam Tin Tea House
Banawe cor. Cuenco St. Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Lam-Tin-Tea-House-Banawe-164018220297891/
Hakaw (Php 95)
Rate: 5/5
Lam Tin Fried Chicken
Rate: 5/5
I have 2 favorites at Lam Tin Tea House, Hakaw and Lam Tin Fried Chicken. Compared to other so-called Chinese restaurants, their Hakaw tastes more fresh and plump. The dumpling wrapper doesn’t break easily as it carries fat and heavy shrimps inside the pouch-shaped dumpling.
Lam Tin Fried Chicken on the other hand was a classic fried chicken seasoned and fried to perfection. Without any sauce, the chicken pleases by itself.
Sea King Roll (Php 90)
Rate: 4/5
Taro Puff (Php 90)
Rate: 3/5
Shark’s Fin (Php 90)
Rate: 4/5

Other pocket-friendly dimsum to try at the humble hole-in-the-wall restaurant are Sea King Roll, Taro Puff, and Shark’s Fin dumplings.

These are just 2 out of 6 restaurants in a day of Cloverleaf Northern Bite Food Tour. Stay tuned for the next 4!
Banawe restaurants have that lucky charm, which draws the crowd to their places.
If you have a favorite Banawe restaurant, do let me know! 🙂
