Did you ever feel God move mysteriously in your life? Well, I did. This blog post is dedicated to my loyal readers, food blog browsers, my friends and of course my family. It is not about food, but it is about how God mysteriously works in my blog, The Food Scout.
Last December 2, 2011, I received a shocking message from a friend. A straightforward message saying I am a Finalist for the Philippine Blog Awards 2011 – Best Food & Beverage Blog. For about 15 seconds, I was staring at the wall. No words came out from my mouth until that 15-second pause was over, I ran to my parents’ room and told them the awesome news. I wouldn’t forget how remarkable their smiling faces were, a mix of being surprised and proud. 😀
Due to that awesome news, my parents accompanied me to RCBC Plaza for the Philippine Blog Awards 2011 last Saturday, December 3, 2011.
I just want to cut to the chase and let you guys know that I didn’t get the title as the Best Food & Beverage Blog. RatedRalph.com got the title and I want to take this chance to congratulate him since I haven’t met him personally! If you are reading this post Ralph, Congratulations! 🙂
On the other hand, the fact that I didn’t get the title didn’t make me feel disappointed or dismayed. I am actually overwhelmed because of this recognition. God is truly amazing. Every time he gives me great news like this, I couldn’t help but close my eyes and thank Him. His grace is enough. For an imperfect person like me, I have no right to demand God anything. Day by day, God proves to me that He is molding me gently with His everlasting love. Indeed, His promises are real. He is working in my life 24/7.
“I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well” -Psalm 139:14
Seeing my blog on the screen made my heart melt. Never in my wild imagination to be part of this kind of event, knowing that I’m only a “baby” as a food blogger.
One thing I learned from this experience comes from this verse – “Honor your father and mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you”. Deuteronomy 5:16
God knows my heart. With all the challenges I encountered during the past few years, all I want to do now is to prioritize Him, my family and my career. The words of wisdom I may have now didn’t come from me alone. With the help and guidance of my parents, I wouldn’t be The Food Scout now. My supportive parents are my mentors. By obeying them, I know that God will bless me more and more.
Hi mom and dad! If you are reading this, THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🙂 Your unconditional love for me is phenomenal! Thank you for inspiring me.
Anyway… I’ll stop being cheesy to my parents now and share to you guys what else happened that night. 🙂

Gang Badoy of RockEd Philippines kept the crowd alive the entire night. Her bubbly character is memorable for me. Hit na hit ang jokes nya!

Look who was one of the presenters – Christopher Lao was in the house! Fortunately, he was informed and he made it to the event. Hehe 🙂

Juned Sonido gave a speech before the night ended.

I love you Mom!!! <3

I met the epic Christopher Lao. 🙂
With the man behind the Philippine Blog Awards.
Comfort food after the awards night. Hence, we headed off to Chili’s.
My favorite salad in Chili’s, Boneless Buffalo Chicken Salad (Php 450/sharing). I chose salad because it was already 11 in the evening. A light meal is suggested for a better and healthier sleep.
Wings Over Buffalo (Php 395) – I couldn’t resist their Buffalo Wings!!! This is a winning dish in Chili’s

Thank you to Philippine Blog Awards 2011 for this recognition. Being a Finalist is remarkable!
To everyone, I want to THANK YOU with all my heart <3. Thank you for supporting The Food Scout. And seriously, I love you for visiting my site. 🙂
To God be all the glory!
Pray, Eat and Love.
Cheers,
The Food Scout
